Chicago’s fastest kids at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park

The Chicago Park District teamed up with Mayor Lightfoot and the City of Chicago, and BOWA Gives for the second annual Fastest Kids in Chicago Race on December 17, 2022. We found the fastest kid in Chicago in both the sprints and mid-distance races; 60m, 200m and 400m races. The day featured an exhibition-style track competition to find Chicago’s fastest youth runners, and provided access to track and field programming and resources, including several special athlete appearances. The event was organized with support from BOWA Gives, a local nonprofit that supports mentoring youth through sports. The track competition was open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 14 years old, and the public was invited to attend for free to support Chicago’s local sprinters.
